Children of Papua 3

Seashell Gatherers

The low tide exposed a wide and long stretch of sand at the coast along the Gulf of Papua. It was a regular school day but, for some reason, these boys were on the beach carrying a big, yellow pail and searching for something in the sand.  As I approached, they stopped what they were doing and sat on a log.  They looked a bit shy when I took the first shot but the second boy very quickly responded when I asked them to smile.  The big pail was less than a quarter full of tiny seashells when I peeped into it.
