Reflecting on the Mtkvari

The scenic Mtkvari River runs across some of the oldest and most historical sections of the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. The moment I rode by its banks, I knew that I needed to capture the scenery in photos.  My first visit to Georgia in late 2010, however, was too hectic and my Georgian colleague’s driving gave me very few opportunities to do so.  It was only on my second visit in early 2011 when I was finally able to spend a few hours on its banks on a fine sunny morning.   These resulting images were posted in the “Mirrored” and “By the River Mtkvari” series in February this year.
