A Papuan Seascape 2

In Search of Shells

Stranded in Daru Island, I made use of my time visiting seaside villages along the Gulf of Papua.  My friendly hosts brought me to a village called Borogori on a small motorized dinghy.  The tide along the  coast was too shallow and the dinghy could not get close to the village so we removed our shoes,  got off the dinghy into the shallow water, and started a 2-village tour barefoot.

We were on our way to the second village when I captured this scene. Remember the three boys with a yellow pail in my previous post?  There they are near a dugout canoe with the large, yellow bucket. 🙂
