A Cabin in the Steppe 1
While the gers or traditional tents dominate the Mongolian countryside, there are permanent structures and regular buildings especially in the town centers. But, just like the gers, I found those ones situated out in the middle of the steppes more appealing. Many of them are just barns and utility structures but others are functional houses that provide an alternative to the ger and an inviting resting place to the weary traveller. This series is about those picturesque non-ger structures in the steppes.
