Well, it’s time to hit the off-the-beaten-track places once again. The now concluded Hong Kong series was not bad and, being in a highly urban context, the images I captured there in November 2012 were a good break from my usual rural landscapes and portraits. I had some Hong Kong photos which I thought were quite good but somebody specifically told me that she liked my “bush images” better. Fortunately the trip I made last December (yes, I’m still on my 2012 photos!) brought me back to a very obscure place. And so I chose to start the series with this image just to give you a hint. George Weaver, here we go! 🙂
Beautiful Capture – love the color of the water:) Happy Friday!

That was a big leap from … skyscrapers. Nice leap.

🙂 Yes, it’s a big leap from the skyscrapers of Hong Kong to the remote islands of the Pacific. I know you’re familiar with and probably miss HK. Well, I hope to do another HK run sometime this year to give you more photos. For the meantime, let’s see what this island can offer. Regards.

I don’t mind moving away from HK … very nice to see something else.

Ah, Jesse, you’re a sweet boy to think of Granny in the bush! 🙂 I chuckled with delight when I saw the boatman leaning into our journey with such determination. You chose the perfect image to start our new adventure! (I was rooting for the Land Rover. I think you need a military style vehicle in these environs.) It’s inconceivable to me that you are able to traverse the world with such composure even in these remote corners of it. I read about the horrible deaths of the Albatrosses on Midway Atoll nearly 3000 miles remote from civilization. (http://tinyurl.com/b2fooj8) When I see the images that you bring to us from these places, I wonder how soon we will invade them too with our creeping destruction. Thank you, Jesse.
