My Blog Awards
I’ve been nominated for several blog/blogger/blogging awards since I started posting at WordPress in July 2011. Since my first nomination, I’ve been thinking of a way to keep an up-to-date record of all my nominations and, more importantly, remember and thank those fellow bloggers who nominated me. The usual practice is to post the symbol/icon of the award in the sidebar which is fine but I have three problems with that: (1) I prefer my own photos to occupy the sidebar and I end up with a very long sidebar if I include the award icons; (2) Having the award icon on the sidebar does not indicate the nominating person who, to me, is the most important; and (3) A blogger can get nominated for a single award several times and it will require an extra set-up to indicate that with the icon.
My other concern is in relation to reciprocating the award. I’ve been guilty of not having done my part on several occasions, not because I didn’t want to but because I didn’t have time to do so. Because of frequent travels, I always prepare materials to post at least a month in advance and I follow a pre-planned sequence. Complying with the requirements of an award would mean extra work and disrupting my planned posting sequence — something difficult to do while I’m on travel. And so, through this page, I’m doing the very least I can which is to thank the fellow blogger who nominated me and make sure the nomination goes on record. I will update this page as more nominations, if any, will come my way.

The drag of endless mental work in a strange land takes its toll. Fatigue can kill so petty escapades provide hopeful deviations from the brewing madness. An aging DSLR keeps good company to a walk around the neighbourhood, a short drive to a scenic place, or a silent recollection in a quiet nook granting that the host community and the elements of nature would allow one a safe passage to solitude and contemplation. Loneliness quickly turns to joy when something exciting gets captured by the cam’s shutter then set free into the laptop’s screen followed by electric words that rush from the fingers to the keyboard in an effort to describe the moment. Alas, the brain is alive once again!

I would happily help you to plan your journey to Turkey ( Anatolia ) although in the past I travelled spontaneously. I started planing my journeys only recently 🙂 Time is running out for long pleasured getting lost and discovery journeys. If I was a starter traveller in Turkey I would probably start from East. It all depends on what do you want to explore. Cappadocia would be my taste at the moment as I am into stones and rocks nowadays. I would strongly recommend you to visit Cappadocia. Hi Jane. A brief lull at work thankfully allowed me to revisit some blogs, including yours. Great photos you have there. I just wish I have more time to visit more often.
