Faces of Bougainville: Busy Bees
There’s a nice green lawn at the village center with a flowery bush in the middle. Sipping the sweet nectar and making garlands from the bush’s flowers is fun. A perfect pastime on a humid tropical afternoon.

I’m a big fan of your photography, and of your informative commentary. I love the fact that you combine your talent/skills in photography with your clear appreciation for your subject and interest in who/what you’re photographing. It makes for an utter delight for us armchair travelers! But for what it’s worth, I much prefer when you post a series of photos with text, rather than individual photos. In any case, THANK YOU for sharing these! Tania

Hello, Tania. Thank you so much for letting me know that you’re there and how you feel about my posts. Knowing that there are people like you who appreciate my work is a huge encouragement to me. I also know what you’re saying. A series of photos with text was the original intention of this blog and characterizes most of my initial posts. But doing that on a daily or thrice-weekly basis has become a big challenge to me. Collecting and organizing the material and composing the text alone would require so much time and concentration. I’ve been trying to do it at least twice a month but was not always successful. In any case, will try harder for you and the rest who prefer that kind of presentation. Thanks again and best regards. — Jessie

Wow – thank you for your detailed reply. I think you spoiled us with those initial posts that did present the groups of photos with text. But of course it must take SO long to get all that together — no way could you post those so often! Twice a month is impressive as a regular goal – if it is less frequent, as far as I’m concerned it’s DEFINITELY worth waiting for! Thanks again – Tania
