Faces of Bougainville: Deep in Thought
I was part of a team that was consulting remote villages in Bougainville about community problems and the potential solutions. While I was engaged in the discussions, I was also interested on the non-verbal responses of the villagers. In this photo, I captured a group of women and a man as they mentally processed a question that was raised.
That pic speaks book volumes. Well done.

A fantastic shot … it’s just like I can feel how intense they listen and how deep their thoughts are.

Oh, you are back in the bush! Yippeeee! I missed that. I dunno how you managed to catch everybody in the group with such different and consistent puzzlement on their faces. I smiled when I saw the woman on the right. Such strength, composure, resignation almost. She has that “neutral zone” in her head where she dispassionately evaluates all that she sees. This is a multifaceted, intriguing portrait. The processing is superb. I do like the tones for this subject.
